Hi, I’m Sarah Chadwick – Welcome to Babies Block!

If you’re reading this, chances are you’re on one of life’s most incredible, overwhelming, heart-melting, exhausting, and life-changing journeys — parenthood. And I want you to know: you’re not alone.
I’m the proud mom of five beautiful children and a practicing midwife with over 22 years of hands-on experience. I started Babies Block to be the warm, supportive corner of the internet I wish I had during my first pregnancy. Think of this space as a virtual cup of tea with a friend who’s been there, done that, and still has spit-up on her shirt.
Becoming a Mom: The Start of My Journey
I still remember the moment I found out I was pregnant with my first child. I was both over the moon and completely terrified. As much as I had trained and studied as a midwife by then, nothing prepared me for the emotional rollercoaster of becoming a mother myself.
That first pregnancy was a whirlwind. I overpacked my hospital bag, read too many conflicting articles, and cried the first time my baby wouldn’t latch. I had support, sure — but what I really craved was someone who got it. Someone who could say, “Hey, I’ve been there. You’re doing great.”
Since then, I’ve gone through it all five times — each experience different, each one filled with its own lessons and joys. From emergency C-sections to natural births, sleepless nights to sweet morning cuddles, every chapter has added another layer to my motherhood story.
My Midwifery Career: 22+ Years of Supporting Families
Before I was a mother, I was a midwife. And after becoming a mother, I became a better midwife.
I’ve walked alongside hundreds (maybe thousands!) of women and families through pregnancy, labor, birth, and those tender first few weeks postpartum. I’ve held hands during contractions, calmed fears, celebrated first cries, and answered panicked 2 a.m. phone calls about diaper rashes.
My career has given me so much wisdom — not just clinical knowledge, but deep empathy. Every family, every birth story, every teary-eyed mama has taught me something. And I’ve always felt that my work isn’t just a job — it’s a calling.
Now, I want to bring that same guidance and comfort to even more people — through this blog.
Why I Created Babies Block
Babies Block was born out of a deep desire to bridge the gap between clinical advice and real-life experience.
There’s a ton of parenting info out there — but much of it feels cold, confusing, or simply unrealistic. I wanted to create a space that’s warm, down-to-earth, and filled with the kind of tips you’d get from your big sister, your best friend, or your favorite nurse.
This blog is my love letter to:
- First-time parents who don’t know what they don’t know
- Moms navigating postpartum recovery with grace and grit
- Dads trying their best and googling baby burping techniques
- Grandparents, aunties, and baby-shower guests looking for honest product reviews
Here at Babies Block, I share:
- Real-life parenting tips that have worked for my own family
- Trusted guidance from my years as a midwife
- Product reviews based on actual experience, not just marketing hype
- Personal stories from the trenches of motherhood — the good, the messy, and the magical

Let’s Connect!
More than anything, I want Babies Block to feel like a community. I’m not here to be perfect — I’m here to be real with you. To laugh together, cry together, and figure things out one diaper blowout at a time.
Whether you’re pregnant, newly postpartum, or deep in the toddler trenches, this blog is for you. I hope you’ll stay a while, subscribe to the newsletter, and reach out if you have questions, story ideas, or just need a mom-to-mom pep talk.
